Fürsorgeleistende vor Diskriminierung schützen / Protecting caregivers from discrimination

Die Diskriminierung von Eltern und anderen Fürsorgeleistenden am Arbeitsmarkt ist weit verbreitet. Aus einer repräsentativen Umfrage der Antidiskriminierungsstelle des Bundes von 2022 geht hervor, dass 41 Prozent der Eltern aufgrund von Elternschaft oder wegen Kinderbetreuung Diskriminierung erlebt haben. Ende Dezember 2022 trat das sogenannte “Vereinbarkeitsrichtlinienumsetzungsgesetz” in Kraft und sieht vor, dass sich Eltern mit kleinen Kindern, die aufgrund ihrer Elternrolle benachteiligt werden, an die Antidiskriminierungsstelle des Bundes wenden können.
Ziel unseres Projekts ist es, Betroffene von Diskriminierung aufgrund von Elternschaft und Berater*innen, die mit Betroffenen arbeiten, darauf aufmerksam zu machen, dass es diese Form von Diskriminierung gibt und sie darauf hinzuweisen an welchen Stellen sie sich Unterstützung holen können.
Protecting caregivers from discrimination
Discrimination against parents and other caregivers is widespread in the labour market. A representative survey conducted by the German Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency in 2022 shows that 41 per cent of parents have experienced discrimination due to parenthood or because of childcare. At the end of December 2022, the so-called "Compatibility Guidelines Implementation Act" came into force and allows parents with young children who are disadvantaged because of their role as parents to contact the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency.
The goal of our project is to raise awareness among those affected by discrimination due to parenthood and counselors who work with those affected that this form of discrimination exists and to point out to them where they can get support.
