On 01 May 2014 the law on confidential birth came into force.
The Act on Confidential Birth supports women who wish to keep their pregnancy secret. The medical risks of unaccompanied birth are avoided. The wish for the mother's anonymity is maintained for at least 16 years and at the same time the rights of the child are taken into account.
All employees* of our counselling centre are trained and qualified specialists who are contact persons and are qualified to accompany a confidential birth. This means that a woman who wants a confidential birth is accompanied and supported by a specialist throughout the entire process of pregnancy and birth.
The clinics in Salzgitter are obliged to perform confidential births.
