Sexual education by pro familia opposes sexual repression, paternalism and discrimination. It takes a stand against discrimination and advocates the acceptance of different sexual and partnership lifestyles.

Sexual education wants to encourage a self-dependent attitude. It advocates that people can individually shape their way of life, the nature of their relationship(s) and the satisfaction of sexual desires. The basic idea of such a sexual self-determination is respect for the limits of others and the awareness of one's own attitudes and feelings. The cornerstone of our sexual education is a broad knowledge transfer, for example about physical processes and contraceptive methods.

Sexuality should primarily be understood not as a possible source of danger but as a positive life force. It is important to first accept young people with their experiences, desires, needs and curiosity. Only then can risks be addressed and prevention messages become effective. Pedagogy must recognize and endure the tension between risk and protection.

There can be no "right" or "good" sexuality for everyone. It is important to be mindful of one's own feelings and the feelings of others.
